At 136 lbs and in the thick of training, Manny Pacquiao expects no problem making the WBC-supervised weigh-in on Sept. 6 or one month before he faces Marco antonio barrera in Las Vegas.
On Sept. 6, the WBC will conduct a weight-in for both Pacqiao and Barrera who in training in Guadalajara. They should weigh no more than 143 lbs but face no immediate sanction if they fail.
The limit for the Oct. fight is 130 lbs. the WBC pratice is being made to ensure that the limit is within reach of booth boxers. the final weigh-in is held on the eve of the fight. Barrera is turning 34 in January, he stayed as a super-featherweight over the last few yrs. Pacqiao has a 30-day, pre-fight weigh-in in Cebu.
Meanwhile Juan Manuel Marquez, who will defend his WBC super-featherweight crown against Rocky Juarez, weighed 132.1 lbs one month bfore the Sept. 15 fight.
